Your Wisdom Teeth Questions Answered

If you have wisdom teeth that are painful, it's important that you read this blog. My name is Cassie Yardley and a few months ago I started having excruciating pain in my back teeth. I went to my dentist and he said that I had an impacted wisdom tooth. He told me that I would continue having the pain until I had the tooth removed because it was pressing against another tooth. My dentist could tell that I was anxious, so he took the time to tell me all about wisdom teeth, why we have them and why it's important to have them taken out. After my mouth healed, the pain was completely gone and I'm glad that I had the tooth removed. If you have questions about your wisdom teeth, please read my blog to learn all about them and how a dentist can help.

Why Traditional Braces Are A Better Option Than Invisible Braces

Have you been considering getting braces for your teeth, but not sure if you should get traditional or invisible braces? It helps to know why you may be better getting traditional braces.

Traditional Braces Offer Faster Adjustments

One of the biggest differences between the two types of braces is the speed that the adjustments are made. With invisible braces, the changes are very gradual with the different trays making small movements to your teeth. It can be a very long time until you see the change that you are looking for. Traditional braces will start showing improvements over a couple of months, and you'll get the braces taken off much faster. This can be a very appealing aspect to some people that make them pick traditional braces.

Traditional Braces Allow Corrections To Be Made

Another issue you may run into with invisible braces is having to make corrections if the teeth are not moving into the proper position. The invisible trays are already made, so a new impression must be made of your teeth to move them into the proper position. With traditional braces, your orthodontist can make the necessary adjustments on the fly during your next appointment.

Traditional Braces Can't Be Removed

One thing you may not realize about invisible braces is that it takes discipline and dedication to wear them. They can be removed whenever you want, and you must wear the plastic trays for 22 hours per day for the treatment process to be effective. It is very easy to just take them out and set them aside for a day if you don't feel like wearing them, which will set your treatment farther back if you do it often enough. Traditional braces don't give you this option since they are on your teeth from the very first day and cannot be removed. It ensures that your teeth will stay on schedule with the necessary adjustments.

Traditional Braces Are Affordable

You cannot ignore that the cost of having traditional braces is going to be much cheaper than invisible braces when you look at the total cost of the treatment. This can be what makes the difference for someone that is on a budget and doesn't care that others will be able to see that they are wearing braces. If you fall into this group of people, know that you'll be able to save some money by sticking with traditional braces.
